Denton (CBSDFW.COM) – After an extensive search on April 27 in high water, the crew of a Texas Parks and Wildlife boat found the body of a fisherman who had fallen into Clear Creek near Hartley Field the day before.

The victim’s wife called 911 and said she and her husband were fishing along the bank when the road collapsed and fell into the water.

Drones are deployed periodically to help find the 77-year-old. His body was found 100 yards from where he fell. His body was recovered and taken to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s office.

Several agencies have assisted Denton firefighters, including: Texas Parks and Wildlife, Louisville Fire, Flower Mound Fire, Denton Police, Denton Parks & Rick, and the Denton County Sheriff’s Office.

The Denton Police Department is handling the family’s notification.
