US Army Pvt. Joseph A. passed away. Marquez, 20, following a “one-car accident,” according to the press release.
The Delaware native was a member of the 2-2 Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 7th Infantry Division, in Joint Base Lewis McCord.
“We are deeply saddened by the loss of Private Marquis,” said Lieutenant Colonel Michael Villanovsky, commander of the 8th Squadron, 1st Cavalry Regiment. “Black Hawk Squadron sends its deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. Our thoughts and prayers are with them at this difficult time.”
The two wounded soldiers were taken to Yakima Memorial Hospital with minor injuries, and they were treated and discharged, according to the press release.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
