Basinger recounted when she first experienced severe anxiety. She was shopping at a health food store in California when something stopped her in her tracks, she said.

“My cart was almost full, and I found something that really overwhelms me in a way I can’t breathe,” she told the hosts of Red Table Talk. “So I left the basket, got in my car, and that was the last time I drove in about six or seven months.”

The “LA Confidential” Oscar winner said she “would not leave the house” and couldn’t stand the guests visiting her house for dinner. “Everything,” she said, made her nervous.

“It feels like something is shutting down inside of you and you have to learn everything all over again,” she said. “I had to learn to drive again.”

Baldwin, Basinger’s daughter, discussed her debilitating anxiety, which she experienced during her mother’s divorce from Alec Baldwin and as a professional model, in a one-on-one interview with Pinkett Smith’s daughter, Willow Smith.
