- Huawei has released the Band 7, which is a smartwatch that is small and packed with features.
- GT 3 Pro offers a classic aesthetic disguised as a smartwatch.
- Both devices are only in China for now, but they should be making their way to other regions soon.
Huawei It released its latest round of smartwatches, including the Band 7 and GT3 Pro. Both devices are for China at the moment. However, one or both should reach other areas in the coming weeks and months.
The Huawei Band 7 It is a separate smartwatch that is ideal for individuals who want something small and light. The watch comes with a weight of only 16g, and its thickness is 9.99mm. The screen is a 1.47 inch AMOLED screen with very narrow bezels. Despite being thinner than many competitors’ watch bands, the Band 7 still delivers enough power for two weeks of average use.
The new Huawei model includes a host of features one would expect in a modern smartwatch, including blood oxygen detection, sleep monitoring, heart rate monitoring, NFC payment function, thousands of dials to choose from, and 96 different sports modes to suit Almost any exercise. Huawei says the watch is water-resistant to 50 metres.
The Band 7 also includes improved phone integration, including music control, remote camera control, quick reply to messages, and the ability to answer phone calls.
The Band 7 is available in four colors: black, green, pink and red, and has an MSRP of CNY 270 (~$40).

The GT3 Pro It is the next evolution of the GT3, offering a refined aesthetic. The 43mm model has a titanium body, with a sapphire glass display for maximum durability, while the 43mm model has a ceramic body. Unlike the Band 7, which looks a lot like a fitness tracker, the GT 3 Pro looks like a traditional watch masquerading as a smartwatch.
However, under the classic look, Huawei has made a number of improvements, not the least of which is the battery technology. The battery now charges 30% faster and can be charged to 25% in just 10 minutes. Additionally, the larger form should last for most users for a full two weeks on a charge or eight days of heavy use. The smaller form should provide a full week of average use, or four days of heavy use.
Another big improvement is waterproofing, with the new model rated for free diving up to 30 metres. The watch also includes 100 different sports modes, including information on more than 300 golf courses and all the tools a player needs to develop their game.
GT 3 Pro has an MSRP of CNY 2,500 (~$380)
