Talk to NPR About her new book with James Patterson, “Run, Rose, Run,” Parton said she would “only say thank you and I’ll accept it because fans vote” if she was selected to join the storied music foundation. She previously said that she didn’t feel she “got that right” to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Barton told NPR that when she said she wanted to “Bow respectfully” of the nomination process, I thought the Hall of Fame “was for people into rock”. But shortly after Parton requested that her name be withdrawn in March, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation He said he’d keep Barton running. The foundation said its name had already appeared on a ballot paper sent to voters, along with candidates including A Tribe Called Quest and Dionne Warwick.

“From its inception, rock and roll has had deep roots in rhythm, blues and country music,” the foundation said in a statement in March. “It is not defined by any one genre, but rather a voice that drives youth culture. Dolly Parton’s music has influenced a generation of young fans and influenced countless artists who followed him.

“We are in awe of Dolly’s incredible talent and pioneering spirit and are proud to have her inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame,” the foundation said.
