Conservatives criticized on social media Biden After announcing the establishment of the “Disinformation Governance Council” to combat “disinformation” in mid-2022.
Homeland Security Minister Alejandro Mallorcas Witness On Wednesday, the Disinformation Governance Board was recently established, days after Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s purchase of Twitter, to combat online misinformation and will be chaired by Under Secretary for Policy Rob Silvers and Principal Deputy General Counsel Jennifer Gaskill.
“The goal is to bring (DHS) resources together to address this threat,” Mayorcas said, adding that the department is focusing on the spread of disinformation in minority communities.
Missouri Senator Josh Hawley referred to the board as a “disgrace” and wrote a letter to Mallorcas demanding answers about how the board should operate.
“Is there anything more dystopian than the Federally-run Disinformation Governance Board?” Florida Republican Congressional candidate Dr. Willie J. Montague tweeted, adding in a subsequent tweet that the board of directors is “Orwellian.”
They didn’t even need a ‘disinformation board’ Tweet embed They threatened their control of the narrative,” Texan Republican Congressman Troy Niles tweeted.
“Libyes have spent the past weeks planting the seeds of a support plan in case the Twitter deal really does happen,” Republican Congresswoman Lauren Poubert wrote on Twitter. “Today’s news about the Biden-backed ‘disinformation board’ is miserable. They can’t leave anything out of the truth but what they say.”
“Biden’s Disinformation Board is the Ministry of Truth in the real world,” DailyWire reporter Megan Basham wrote on Twitter. “A conservative movement that does not fight this with all it has does not deserve the name. Or the American name.”
Politico reports that Nina Jankovic, who previously served as a disinformation fellow at the Wilson Center, will chair the board as CEO.
Jankovi? I suggested During the 2020 presidential election, Hunter Biden’s laptop, which was verified by several media outlets, served as a “Russian influence reference”.
Jankowicz retweeted her comment on Wednesday, claiming she was simply tweeting live on the Biden-Trump presidential debate.
The Department of Homeland Security did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News.
