Lviv, Ukraine (AFP) – Hollywood actress and UN humanitarian Angelina Jolie made a surprise visit to the western Ukrainian city of Lviv on Saturday, the governor of the Lviv region said on Telegram.

The attack in eastern Ukraine apparently targeted a mob mostly women and children trying to flee an imminent Russian attack, killing at least 52 people and wounding dozens.
“I was very moved by (children’s) stories,” Kozetsky wrote. “One of the girls was even able to privately tell Mrs. Jolie about a dream she had had.”
He said that Jolie also visited a boarding school, talked with the students and took pictures with them, adding, “She promised she would come back again.”
According to Kozytskyy, Jolie also met with evacuees who arrived at the central railway station in Lviv, as well as with Ukrainian volunteers who provided the newcomers with medical assistance and advice,
“The visit was a surprise to all of us,” he wrote. “Many people who saw Mrs. Jolie in the Lviv region did not believe that she really was. But since February 24, Ukraine has shown the whole world that there are a lot of wonderful things here. “
