- The first public beta of Android 13 brings hints of face unlocking on the Pixel 6 Pro.
- These are for reference only and it is not actually possible to set up and use the Face Unlock feature yet.
It seems that the pending access to unlock the face is on Google Pixel Series 6 It is one of the industry’s worst kept secrets, as the technology was referenced in retailer listings, Google’s proprietary code, and during device setup.
Now YouTube M Brandon Lee from This Is Tech Today mentioned That newly released Android 13 beta 1 He has references to face unlock on the Pixel 6 Pro. Lee warns that these are all just screens or references found in Settings, and that you can’t actually set up face unlock on the device. Check out the screenshot below.
Lee added that a member of his Discord server also got a face unlock reference to appear on Pixel 5apparently by searching for “face unlock” in the support section.
This however adds to the recent 9to5Google Claiming that Face Unlock is tentatively scheduled to arrive With the next Pixel feature drop. However, it is believed that the functionality will be limited to the Pixel 6 Pro.
Many Pixel 6 series users have reported a less reliable in-display fingerprint sensor at launch, so face unlock (even if it’s less secure) would represent a solid alternative in some cases. But there is hope that it will come with the standard Pixel 6 and Pixel 5 as well.
