Some civilians were evacuated from the Azovstal steel plants in Mariupol after the ceasefire, according to a commander in the Azov Regiment, one of the Ukrainian soldiers trapped in the plant.

Captain Svyatoslav Palamar, Deputy Commander Azov regimenthe said that the ceasefire, which was supposed to start at 6 a.m. local time, ended at 11 a.m. local time.

“So far, this is the truth, both sides are following the ceasefire regime,” he said.

He said the evacuation convoy was too late. “Since six in the morning, we have been waiting for the evacuation convoy, which did not arrive until 6:25 in the evening.”

“We brought 20 civilians to the agreed meeting point, and we were able to rescue them from the rubble. These are women and children. We hope that these people will go to the agreed destination, which is Zaporizhia, the Ukraine-controlled region,” said Palamar.

“So far, the rescue operation continues and is being carried out by Azov soldiers – we are rescuing civilians from under the rubble,” he added.

“These are women, children and adults,” he said in a video message on the regiment’s Telegram channel.

“We hope to extend this operation further and we will succeed in evacuating all civilians,” he said.

“As for the wounded – those people who need urgent medical care – it is not clear to us why they were not evacuated and their evacuation to the territory controlled by Ukraine was not discussed,” he added.
I assure you that we demand the evacuation of not only civilians but also our wounded soldiers who need medical care.

Russia’s state news agency TASS said earlier on Saturday that a group of civilians had left the steel plant. A reporter at the site told TASS that a total of 25 people had turned out, including six children under the age of 14.

There are believed to be hundreds of people inside the steel complex, including dozens who have been injured during intense Russian bombing over the past several weeks. Last But not everyone gets their dreams fulfilled It turns out that many of its buildings have been reduced to rubble.

Defenders of the Azovstal plant said Wednesday night’s attacks targeted the makeshift hospital inside the complex, dramatically increasing the number of wounded.
