BRIDGEPORT, Connecticut (WFSB) – A boy was taken to hospital with burns this weekend in Bridgeport, officials said.
Officials said crews were called to Louisiana Avenue on Sunday afternoon to report the burning of a child.
The child, who organizers of the fundraising effort identified as 6-year-old Dominic, was taken to the burn unit at Bridgeport Hospital.
Bridgeport officials said: “Initial reports indicate that up to four unattended children were seen playing with gasoline and setting things on fire.”
The incident is still under investigation.

In it, the organizers described the incident as a case of bullying.
“My little brother Dom was bullied by the tenants downstairs,” Kayla Deegan and Toni Gauger wrote on the website. “It escalated into murderous intent.”
Deegan and Joger said one of the kids covered a ball with gasoline, lit it and threw it at Dominic.
They wrote: “Dom has second and third degree burns on his face and leg.” “He will be scarred for life, both mentally and physically.”
GoFundMe’s efforts are meant to cover hospital bills and a new home, according to its organizers.
