A 6-year-old Connecticut boy was severely burned when his little neighbor poured gasoline on a tennis ball before lighting it and throwing it in the boy’s face, a report said.
Dominic Crancal was playing in the backyard of his Bridgeport home on Sunday when an 8-year-old kidnapped petrol and a lighter from the shed before persuading the child to approach him, the Guardian reported. NBC New York.
“Once he came down the stairs, he called the boy by his name and lured him around the corner,” Kayla Deegan, the boy’s sister, told the outlet.
“Within seconds he’s back around the corner screaming, Mom, set me on fire! Set me on fire!”
Kayla said the sadistic act was done on purpose and that the neighbor had bullied her brother in the past.
“What he did was pour gasoline on a tennis ball, took a lighter, lit it and threw it straight in my brother’s face – then he ran off and watched him burn,” she said.
“Two months ago, under the supervision of the bully’s mother, he was pushed against a wall and fell to the ground. Once again, the mother refuses to admit that her son did it.”
Dominic was taken to the burn unit at Bridgeport Hospital where he was recovering.
the family GoFundMe started To help the child recover. They’ve received $162,000 in donations as of Wednesday night.
