Police said the baby, Brandon Cuellar, was taken to a local hospital as a precaution, but he was unharmed and in good condition. He will be returned to his family in a few hours.
Police say the people arrested in this case are related to the child’s family but have not released their names at this time. They believe that one of the people being held is actually the man who was seen taking baby Brandon on the video.
Police said a woman was arrested Tuesday as a “person of interest” after what authorities described as inconsistencies in her statements to police about the abduction of a stranger, Brandon, the day before.
The woman, who has not been identified, was with the child’s grandmother before Brandon Cuellar was abducted on Monday by an unidentified man, San Jose Police spokesperson Sgt. Christian Camarillo told reporters.
“This person was with Grandma yesterday when they went shopping, she was present at the apartment complex when that happened,” he said. “There were some inconsistencies with what you told us. Obviously, it brought our attention to what you know about this.”
Police said the man entered an apartment in San Jose around 1 p.m. Monday and walked out with the infant in a baby carrier.
Police released a video clip showing the man walking on the sidewalk holding a baby carrier covered in a white blanket.

“The family does not recognize this suspect,” police wrote on Twitter.
Camarillo told reporters on Monday that the boy’s grandmother had reported the kidnapping.
“According to Grandma, she came home to this apartment… She took the child into the apartment, and went down to unload some groceries,” Camarillo said. “In that short period someone entered the apartment…and left with the child.”

Brandon was last seen wearing a white, long-sleeved onesie with dinosaurs.
Camarillo said the child’s mother was at work when the kidnapping occurred.
“My dad is now out of the picture,” Camarillo said. “He’s imprisoned. I don’t know, you know, if he’s going to play into this, but obviously we’ll talk to him soon.”
He said it was hard to tell the man who took the baby because he was wearing a mask.
“We need the public’s help right now in San Jose to find this baby,” he said. “Today someone is walking around with a 3-month-old they didn’t have yesterday.”
He said the FBI sent the Child Abduction Response Team to help the San Jose police.
